Jenny Welden is an interdisciplinary artist working across textile, performance, and time-based media. From colossal textiles & large-scale installations, to films & durational performances, to poetry & book arts, she works across disciplines to explore her broader interests in memory, motion, and the spiritual journey. The daughter of peripatetics, she has lived all over the world, forming multimedia networks from accumulated fragments, obsessively chronicling her traveling life on the move.
Her critically-acclaimed work has appeared in galleries, museums, city streets, event venues, and private collections across the world, including the Basalt Art Base, the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Gallery 4 in Suzhou, China, and Main Market Square in Nuremberg, Germany. She has taught a variety of art forms at the professional and collegiate levels, including painting, figure drawing, chemical dyework, weaving, printing, embroidery, quilting, and over twenty styles of ballroom dance.
She holds a BFA in studio art from Colorado College and an MFA in Visual Art from the University of Kansas.
